Julia recently returned to the Philadelphia area after graduating from Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where she majored in International Affairs and Russian. Coming home, more than anything, re-ignited her passion for community service, which was a major aspect of her upbringing. Having grown up only a few miles outside of Philadelphia, Julia saw, from a young age, the impact of poverty on communities and individuals–especially it’s impact on public health.
Poverty’s impact on women has always caught Julia’s attention. She had seen women sacrifice so much of themselves for their families–including their health. This shouldn’t be a decision any woman should have to make in the world’s wealthiest nation. In today’s economic climate, women’s health initiatives need, more than ever, auxiliary funding and support–and it was so refreshing to come across an organization that does just that!
The 1 in 8 Foundation’s emphasis on promoting not only awareness about breast cancer prevention, but also access to this preventative care is what really drew Julia to the organization. Her hope is to contribute to this innovative organization by supporting fundraising efforts.

Pat Anderson was born in Canton, Ohio in 1980 and moved to Raleigh when she was less than a year old and consider herself a NC native. Pat was introduced to the game of golf by her father and grandfather at a very early age and ever since it has been her passion, favorite hobby and primary source of relaxation! Having grown up the middle child of 3 athletic and very competitive boys she have been involved in almost any sport imaginable. Pat traveled the Southeast as a junior playing in some of the largest golf tournaments around. Although she can not currently compete with the worlds top golfers, she is constantly working on it! For now Pat enjoy traveling to see them play in person at places like Augusta National for the Masters and another favorite stop in Hilton Head, SC for the Verizon Heritage!
Pat received an associated degree in general business studies and have worked professionally in a variety of sales and business related fields. While she enjoy the flexibility of not having to work in a cramped office from 9-5pm everyday she know that in order to be satisfied professionally she really need to do two things. One of which is to be surrounded by something that she am passionate about and the other is to be apart of something much larger than herself, and have the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of as many people as possible.
With a history of cancer in both her family and her fiance’s family ( she am getting married on May 16th of 2009) Pat has a genuine interest in helping to prevent this disease from having any more detrimental impact on any of the very special woman in her life.
