IT may surprise you to learn that men can get breast cancer too. What’s more, because of the way most men typically deal with disease, their cancer can typically go undetected until it is too late.
Let’s face it, men don’t like doctors! Who does? But you are not invincible and breast cancer can have just as catastrophic an affect on a man as it can on a women. In fact, because men tend not to be proactive about their bodies, men’s breast cancer is often fatal, because by the time it is detected, it has progressed to the stage that treatment is a band-aid intervention
at best.
Looking the other way or ignoring unusual pains are certainly not the way to
prolong your life. Being tuned into your healthcare and showing up
for regularly scheduled doctors appointments are
critical. In fact, 1 in 8 CEO Ken Vrana, a
cancer survivor himself, discovered his
cancer during a routine doctor’s visit.
Had it not been detected at the time,
doctors told him it could easily have
ended his life.
Are we trying to scare you? You bet we are.
You have people who depend on you; family,
friends and co-workers and we’re determined
to help keep you as healthy as possible. This is
not about luck, guys. This is about caring
enough about yourselves and those you love,
to get up off the couch, once or twice a year,
and spend 20 minutes with your doctor. It won’t
kill you.
Not going just might.
